POTS and Pregnancy
Hi everyone. Just looking for some advice. I’m currently 13 weeks, 5 days pregnant. I also have postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. I’ve had some pretty severe all day sickness and can barely keep food, let alone fluids down. My obgyn is against me taking atenolol which is the only pregnancy safe medication I take out of all the medication I was on before pregnancy. My cardiologist will prescribe whatever beta blocker my obgyn wants but I just don’t know which one that is yet. I go back to see my obgyn on Wednesday and I’m going to ask to be taken off work at least until I can get the nausea and dizziness under control somewhat. What has me really concerned lately is this utter exhaustion I’ve been feeling. I get out of bed and feel like I’ve done hardcore exercise all day. The heart rate stuff is bearable but I can barely function enough to get my 8 year old ready for school in the morning. I’m thinking home iv fluids might even help out some. Does anyone have any experience with this and what helped you?
