My sons behaviour has been getting worse, what do I do?!?

My son is 3 and these last few days be has been really playing up.
Hitting me, spitting at me, telling me to go away, grabbing things from the freezer when I told him not to and running round the house with it like it's a game till I snatch it off him and put it back and lock the door so he can't enter the kitchen, he sees me clean up toys and waits till I'm nearly done then throws them on the floor again so I then make HIM clean it all up instead of him just helping me.
Everything he does I immediately tell him to apologise, tell him what he's done is wrong and explain that only good boys get good things like a sticker, or a treat. I've taken toys off him if he's been really really bad but he doesn't care.
I'm a single mum, I've been with my son his whole life and never had a babysitter it's just me and him. He NEVER NAPS!!! So it's 12/13 hour days with him just me and him.
He goes to daycare 2 and a half days a week but he even plays up as soon as I pick him up from there. 
What do I do????

When my daughter was that age she got a warning and then she was put on the naughty step. She would scream and shout and id ignore her until she calmed down. It’s difficult but they soon realise that if they want your attention being naughty isn’t the way to get it.

Find out what’s triggering these outbursts. Kids do these things usually because they have a lot of emotions built up and don’t understand how to let it out. Are there certain things/times that these occur? When he starts to do these things try and redirect him. Another thing that helps is setting out a plan and reminding him often. Like “we’re going to finish breakfast, then wash our hands, and then we’ll play with toys for an hour. After that we will clean up to do this.” And when any kind of transition is coming, give him a warning. I work at a daycare and give my kids the 5 minute warning. No I don’t actually time it because they don’t understand time anyway. But I’ll say “5 minutes,” “2 minutes,” “okay, time to clean!” And it works much better because they know it’s almost time to clean. Remember these little humans have all these feelings they can’t Understand or explain. Try and be patient. Make sure you tell him how it FEELS when he hits you. “It makes mommy very sad when you hit me. It hurts.” This will help him understand what his actions are doing to you

Daycares teach kids tons of bad habits that they pick up from other kids and often digress. I’ve worked at too many. He’s just testing you and his environment. 
Try putting feeling into it. 
“It makes me sad when you do this...”

Another thing you can do is when you see him starting to get angry or overwhelmed, suggest he go sit down with a stuffed animal to calm down. I usually say “do you want to go sit down in the cozy area with a stuffed animal to calm down?” Usually within a few minutes the child is back and ready to go
