How Do I make him fall in love with me or chase me?

I have this Haitian guy that I am talking to that I like very much. We are casually dating he said he wants to see if this is the best for the both of us and wants to proceed with caution. I could see myself being with him future wise. We vibe very well. But how can I make him want to be with me, fall in love with me, and chase me? I really fall in love very fast and easily and I let my feelings known. I am pretty much an open book. But my friend told me to pull back and don't let my feelings known. That I need to make myself scarce and be a mystery. Which I did when I told him I loved him and surprised him. What should I do?
