Can I give my baby a large wedge of apple to chew on?

I know nothing about BLW. I've been giving her purees and she loves them, but I thought she might also enjoy chewing on a wedge of apple (too large to choke on).

Apples aren’t recommended for BLW unless cooked and suuuuper soft (like applesauce). There are a tons of other things baby can have though!

Raw apples are the #1 thing babies choke on during BLW. 
Cantaloupe and strawberries are both in season right now and great raw fruits! Cucumbers are also cheap and great raw snacks

Try something softer in case a peice breaks off she wont choke on a small bit

I havent done blw I've been doing purees but from what I've read you should do something softer than raw fruits or veggies so that way the pieces they bite off are easily chewed and swallowed. You can try steaming the apple slices first and maybe cutting them into tiny bite sized pieces but not raw apple slices ...I think people do like steamed broccoli or scrambled eggs i would research a little on google or talk to your pediatrician and ask what's best to start off

No you need to steam them first and then they’re really soft
