Protective hairstyles for white girl
Hey everyone! I have big beautiful curly hair, that is hard to maintain and drys out very easily. When I lived in the Bahamas I wore my hair in braids and kept it moisturized and protected. But here in Canada it is frowned upon to wear protective styles if you are not a WOC (woman of colour). I understand why, and I understand the culture behind braids, as well as the negativity WOC receive due to their hair. I’m looking for suggestions to keep my hair in a certain style that will help me maintain it aswell as keep it protected without offending anyone or being in the wrong. Basic braids (one or two large ones) don’t work for me because I can’t get them tight enough and my hair is chin length when dry. Any suggestions are appreciated!
