What kinds of things do you do to encourage pretend play with your toddler?

If you have a toddler aged under 2 (13m-23months), what sort of pretend play do they do? What do you do to encourage pretend play?

We like to play super heros, cops and robbers, and we love to "eat" the food they make

Pretend play can be hard for adults, a lot forget how to play! But any silly thing can encourage pretend play. My daughter loves to play chase and take turns pretending we are bears hiding in a cave to scare each other. We play pirate or mermaid in the bathtub. Dress up games, cooking, dolls, building blocks, etc. all promote pretend play.

We pretend to eat food, she has a little kitchen she likes so wash her hands a lot, she like to pretend one of us or her toys are sleeping. She is 19 months.

My 18 isn’t into pretend play yet and my oldest was around 2.5 before she was really interested but she loves her play kitchen. She’s 4 in June and still loves pretending to make food everyday.
