COVID-19 & hospital restrictions during labor

Mary

I'm only 24 weeks pregnant, so I still have some time, but I'm starting to freak out about how hospitals aren't allowing any visitors. As of right now I believe my hospital will allow my spouse, but no other visitors (including my 2 year old). I'm not happy with that but I understand. My issue is that I'm hearing of hospitals not even allowing your spouse to be with you. So you have to labor and give birth ALONE. Yes, there are doctors and nurses in the hospital but from my first experience, I know that the doctor and nurses only come to check on you every once in a while. So essential you'll be laboring alone. That is terrifying!! I'm thinking about having a home birth instead just to have my support system with me! Anyone else freaking out?! Or have more information about this...
