Painful Exams

I am 36 weeks tomorrow and a FTM. I had an exam at my first appointment. I believe it was a pap smear, but i’m not sure. I also had a transvaginal ultrasound at that appointment. Both of which were extremely painful. I went this past week for my Group B swab. I thought it’s just a swab it can’t possibly hurt.. WRONG! It wasn’t as bad as the exams but it was painful. I opted out of a cervix check just because I feel it’s unnecessary at this point and risky. I know I can’t decline them all, especially if they need to check for labor. I’m just wondering how to deal with this? Do any of you find exams extremely painful as well? I talked about it in another group and someone made me feel like I was crazy. Everyone else said their cervix checks weren’t painful.. I don’t understand what is causing this and my doctor doesn’t ever say anything about it (she knows they’re painful for me)
