I think that’s weird. If my best friend broke up with their partner then Id be texting my friend not reaching out to their ex. Especially not to call them my best friend and say i care about him. That’s strange to me

I have two friends that just split up after 7 years together. I've known both longer than their relationship. I have and will continue to reach out to the both to check on their wellbeing.

It would depend. If they were friends first, why would it bother me? If they literally had nothing to do with each other before this, I’d be a little put off by the idea, but I wouldn’t tell him he couldn’t.
