Mucus Plug Questions??? No Pics

So just now I lost a chunk of my mucus plug. This one was smaller but darn noticeable and was brown/yellow tinted just seemed dirty. But last week my plug that came out was clear/white. 
Why would their be a change or does it not matter?

It's a good sign the part of your plug is now brown, means that you are moving closer to labor. That part of your plug is from higher up in your cervix, close to your uterus/baby sack. It might get more red colored which means you are dilating (having your blood show). All normal as long as you aren't bleeding alot.
