Sodium Lauryl Sulfate birth defects?

I just found out the body lotion I've been using for the past few months has Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in it! I heard its not safe to use while pregnant, what are the effects of it during pregnancy? If it causes birth defect dues anyone know what kind? I've been using Queen Helene's cocoa butter hand and body lotion which I thought was safe to use.

It might be different if you were eating it, but I doubt is a problem topically. You can always ask your doctor...or realize we're talking about lotion and relax. ♥️

I’ve always used that and never had issues. I never changed lotions or anything when pregnant

It should be avoided as should many ingredients in skin care like parabens and all other endocrine disrupters. Some hairsprays etc have been linked to penis malformation. 
I wouldn’t worry too much about it - just stop using it
