Fertility specialist?

Question

Ok so you have to referred to a specialist or can you just go? If you have to be referred, how long must you to ttc before getting referred? I asked cause I've been to obgyn and I've told them I've been TTC for 5 years but all I get told is that since I have my monthly every month I'm ovulating and I'm able to conceive. I feel like they just aren't listening.

You need a new gyno.. That is not an acceptable response no matter how long you have been trying. You don't need a referral for the specialist but you may need one for insurance. Either way, you need a new gyno.

I went and was referred but that was just for insurance reasons. They didn't ask for anything from OBGYN.
Bring as much paperwork/lab work that you can. 
Going was the best decision ever! Found out I have a separated uterus & that's the reason for my irregular cycles, late term miscarriage /my body aborting a pregnancy a few years back &&&&&& the reason we haven't gotten pregant yet!
