The implant-pros and cons?

Question

I'm considering getting the implant for  protection and to stop my periods but I'm hesitant about it and I heard it can make you gain weight aswell as being really painful to insert, 
What are the pros and cons of this?
And can anyone who's has it tell me what it's like and how it's inserted/,
 Procedure I.e, needle etc

Had an implant for 5 years had the second one taken out a month ago. I gained a stone in the first 7 weeks of having it in and nasty mood swings which were sometimes aggressive other times i would burst into tears cause the hoover wouldnt pick a bit if fluff up. I had spotting and random heavy flow periods pop up all over the place. I had 4 months of cluster migranes and  I finally rules out everything but the inplant. After having it out a month ago i have felt more energentic, ive lost 12 pounds already and im not a snotty emotional cow anymore. The scar from having it removed isnt great 
 ut... The plus side..... You dont have to remember to take a pill everyday.

Got my implant a month ago I've gained a little bit of weight I've noticed it makes me more hungry and tired have brown disgusting discharge and make my stomach hurt a bit that's it but it's didn't hurt getting put in and it was a bit sore after the anesteptic wore off

So they numb the area with a needle and then shoot it into you arm like a little gun. 
I gained about 15 kgs when I got the bar but I also wasn't exercising or anything like that. I got my period everyday for about 2 months and then it stopped for 2 years! I loved the bar but it's different for every person.

I have had the implant for 7 months now and how they insert it is a needle, yes it hurts but it's worth it, and it only hurts for seconds, I haven't put any weight on, but I also do regular exercise, you don't have to use a condom, ( if you and the other person are safe as in stds... Etc) you don't have to worry about taking a pill, makes periods eventually go away, a bad thing is your period in the first couple of months are irregular and can come at different times and can last longer then a normal period, and when you have had it in for a while before it stops all together you spot occasionally, but that's it, it's worth it.

I had the implant for about 6 months and had a really bad experience with it. The inserting was fine, they either inject the area with a local anaesthetic which stings a little, like a bee sting or use a numbing spray. Then they use a gun type thing to insert the implant, when they do this you can't feel it as the area is numb, all o felt was pressure on my arm. The implant is about 2 inches long and pretty thin, you can feel it under your skin if you press but can't see anything. My body didn't agree with it at all and I bled for almost the whole six months I had it in. Doctor suggested taking the pill on top to control bleeding, which didn't work. I had it taken out when I returned from travelling and am now on the combined pill, which I was on before the implant.
