Help!

So, according to my LMP I was 8 weeks 6 days at my first ultrasound. However, baby was measuring small at 6 weeks. We saw the heartbeat (126 bpm) so we were reassured that there was no need for concern.

At the same time, I started spotting brown discharge. Again, I was reassured that this was normal. This continued for 2 weeks and got progressively darker & heavier. I had another ultrasound to see if everything was progressing normally. It wasn’t. Baby’s heart stopped beating at 6 weeks 2 days.

I was still bleeding, and began passing some clots, but they weren’t very big. I had a D&C two days later. The gestational age was close to 11 weeks.

My question is, when did I miscarry? Do I count it as when I first started spotting? Did I miscarry at 11 weeks when baby was physically removed through d&c or 6 weeks when the heartbeat stopped? I’m so confused.
