What are you guys doing to enforce “no” ?

Question

I feel like all I do is tell my daughter no all day😭 especially right now while I’m trying to work from home. 
If I tell her no, now she thinks it’s a game and will continue to do it over and over again. I have to remove either her or the object to get her to stop. 
Can’t get her to stop touching the trash can, I tell her no and caca and clean her hands every time but nothing is working. She also keeps turning on our dishwasher. I cannot for the life of me get her to listen. 
Anyone have any useful tips ?! This mama is loosing her mind🙃

I try to only use ‘no’ occasionally and use other words to get him to stop. I feel like if I say no too often he just gets so used to it and he ignores me. For example, I might say “keep food on the table” (to stop throwing food), “Come to me” or “go to daddy” or “Go get your car” to move him away from somewhere), “feet on the floor” (to stop him from climbing on his chair). Then I praise him eg “good putting your feet on the floor”. It doesn’t work 100% of the time but seems to work better than ‘no’ all the time.

Haha I haven’t figured it out either! I just distract him and physically move him but saying no just makes it worse in my experience. He gets a lot more interested. 
Can you put something in front of the dishwasher or move trash somewhere she can’t reach?

My method with trash is saying “ew nasty” because he definitely doesn’t like nasty things haha. He still occasionally will bring me a wrapper from a snack he already ate. 
We’re having trouble with him climbing on our stove or opening the door. The door will lock when it is off, but that just helps him climb up. He knows the stove is hot but he doesn’t understand that it will hurt so idk what to do there. 
Typically he will listen if I just say “bubba what are you doing?” And he runs back to me.

Going through the exact same thing. Everytime we tell our son no he does it more. He is now trying to sneak and throw things in the trash can it has a lid and thankfully a lock. But so far the best we can do is remove him and give him something else to play with.

Honestly although they understand no at this age, they're not 100% developmentally able to stop and redirect themselves, so it's still part of our job 😭 lol. Janet Lansbury has some good podcasts on this topic.
