Style of undies for an 18 month old? 🧐

I want to order some underwear for my son to begin toilet training. I’m not sure which he would prefer, so I’d appreciate some help from other seasoned parents on what little ones/ little guys tend to like. My partner thinks he’ll be more comfortable in briefs, so that’s what we’re leaning towards. Any suggestions? TIA! 😊

The little boy I babysit started in briefs and now wears boxer briefs (he’s 5). He was so excited to get them that as soon as we got home he stripped so he could show me his “long underwear” 😂
His parents switched him because his briefs would ride up or get twisted around the joint of his leg.

I’d start with regular briefs. See how he takes to them before getting something else. The little boy I used to have custody of started in briefs and was constantly digging wedgies out or something. I decided to buy him some boxer briefs and he wasn’t doing it as much. He then went commando for about two years before starting to wear briefs again. He’s 6 now tho so I think he knows a little better than to be digging in his pants all the time.

It’s hard to find undies in smaller sizes, so you’ll probably end up with 2T/3T... the boxer briefs looked too long, I was worried they’d stick out under his shorts, so we went with the briefs
