Toddler bed? 🤔

Question

Hi all! I just found out that we're pregnant with baby #2 due December, juuuuust after my lil guy turns 2!
Should he be in his own bed by then? Or will I have two kids with cribs? How do you know when they're ready?

We’re potentially pregnant with another November baby, so we’re in the same boat. I say potentially because I have a history of first trimester miscarriages, including a missed miscarriage. My symptoms are so mild this time, it’s freaking me out some days. 
But anyway. Our daughter slept in an Arm’s Reach co-sleeper in our bedroom until she was 4 months old. I thought I would make it to 6 months, but I was ready for some space by then after being her sole care giver nearly 24/7 (my husband works nights). 
We’re not anticipating buying a second crib at this point. It’s encouraging to hear people started early with with a toddler/twin bed with good luck. We will keep an open mind if she shows signs that she’s ready. Otherwise, we’d like her to use the crib during the first few months and wait until baby #2 is 4-6 months old to transition her out.

Same here! baby is due right after my little turns 2 but I figure the new baby will be in our room for 6 months so we have a little more time to transition her!

My November baby was my second and born 22 months after my first. I transitioned my first into a toddler bed when he was 17ish months. He did really great with it.

My daughter sleeps waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too bad to switch to a toddler bed. She practically goes in circles and loves being pressed against the sides 😂

I’m not switching my daughter out of the crib until she starts to climb out of it. I’m due October 4th, and I’m hoping she continues to not try to climb out! She’s such a good sleeper so I’m not too worried.

I moved all my kids to toddler beds once they started climbing it. My youngest who’s 15 months isn’t interested in climbing it like my older two were, I had to switch them to beds once they were a year. I’m due July with #4 so he’s going to be in a crib and I think I’ll keep my youngest in her crib for a few more months.

I set up my first baby’s big girl bed and started letting her take naps in it. And then one night she just asked to sleep in her bed (and I cried over the monitor all night because I wasn’t ready for her to be that grown up 😆) But I made the big bed a privilege. And said if she got out of it, she’d have to go back to her crib to sleep. She has yet to get out of her bed on her own 🤷🏼‍♀️ And then the crib was freed up for little brother. But something else to think about is the potential of them wandering the halls. If you have a wanderer, they say crib until the kid can climb out. Good luck! Try to make it fun!

We are due with baby #2 in early October. Baby will be in our room for a couple months most likely so we will probably keep our daughter in the crib a while longer unless she seems ready to transition before that.

I am pregnant with baby #2 due in December and my first has been co sleeping and still nursing at night. This week since my husband is off from work we have been trying to get him to sleep in his own room we have a convertible crib that we took the front off so I guess it’s a toddler bed? So far he slept 1 hour everyday for a nap and 3 hours last night in his bed. It’s definitely going to be a slow process to get him sleeping in there.

We are switching rooms around and though baby will be with us in the co sleeper for a while we are buying a second crib I am also due June, my son is 11/26/18 and will be staying in until he is three or until he starts trying to climb out which he hasnt even thought he could do yet thank god, but we are switching their rooms around this weekend so my son gets the bigger room since hes the first born lol Were just waiting on the curtain rods and curtains to come Sunday in the mail. When he is three all we will do is take the front part off and add the to side rails that have an opening in the middle for the toddle part of the crib its a 4in1 eventually we will take one of those sides off and then after he is too big we will get the twin bed for his room =]
