HOW?!

Question

I’m not sure how women do a surprise gender reveal where they find out along with everyone else. Maybe it’s the control freak in me? Maybe it’s me not wanting ideas shoved down my throat before I can think about them. I want to know gender choose a name and have a game plan before ANYONE, other than obviously my hubby, knows. Or maybe it’s my MIL being on my last damn nerve. 😂

I would rather have a colonoscopy than attend a gender reveal party. By far one of the most stupid pregnancy traditions to come out of the last few decades.

I'm super excited to have a gender reveal party, partly because I *am* a bit of a control freak and your shower is usually hosted by other people, so you don't get to plan it. I agree about finding out the gender though... my husband wants us to find out in front of people and I *so* do not want that! I want to know the gender in advance and then create all the stuff I want to do to share the news with people.

My best friend was the only one who knew what I was having with my 1st. We did an exploding golf ball and I bought one of each... I went to his house the day before the party and he took away the golf ball I didn’t need and took the color sticker off the other one.  I honestly loved finding out with my close family and friends. No one tried to give me any ideas about anything and no one gave me their opinions on anything.... I guess my family and friends either are really laid back or they know I don’t care about opinions.
I had planned to do another one with this baby... one of my other friends had already begged to be the only who knew ahead of time 😂.... but now with the whole corona virus issue, that’s been canceled.

Agree.. I found out the second I receive my results and could’ve never waited any amount of time so that other people could find out with me. I always said I’d never do one because in all honesty NO ONE CARES about the gender of your baby except the parents! (or siblings)

We found out gender with the genetic testing, but refused to tell anyone else until the ultrasound at 24w. We invited the moms and let the ultrasound tech spill the beans- and told everyone else at that point. We didn’t want to hear names or opinions. We also didn’t reveal he name until she was born. Made things a lot easier!

We’re doing our gender reveal at the same time we announce I’ve given birth as we’re not finding out until then 😊
