How long ??

How long are you supposed to use a water bottle and pat dry after vaginal delivery? I had about 30-40 stitches if that makes a difference.. I can tell it would hurt like hell to wipe normal right now but was just wondering how long since they weren't clear about that at the hospital.

I like to feel clean and reduce my chances of infections so I will be using it until I feel comfortable. I'm just over 2wks pp and still have a good amount of lochia, so as long as that is present I will use that little bottle so I feel clean!

I think that as long as that are is sensitive, you should use it. I used it for a little over 6 weeks.

I only did for a few days, but I was taking ural to stop my pee stinging me when I peed. I never used the bottle, just pat dried. The ural made a world of difference. I took ural for about a week because I was scared to stop. I had an episiotomy and no idea how many stitches, it felt like a lot! If it's bothering you maybe try ural - I'm in Aus so your brand might be different- it's what you take when you've got a uti.

I had a similar amount of stitches (3rd degree & severe labia tear) and used that damn bottle for probably six weeks. I wasn't comfortable until that point. You could be different. Your comfort is priority!

I used it for about 3-4 weeks and patted dry until about 5 weeks when I knew the stitches had dissolved.

I used it until I didn't feel like it would hurt if I wiped. I think I used it 2 or 3 weeks. I was not about to wipe with my tear. I would use it and pat dry

Compared to the other comments, I stopped really early. I only used it for a few days after coming home because I was too lazy to refill it haha.

I had a few stitches and I never used the water bottle. I pay dry for the first week and then just wiped gently for a while. After three weeks I was fine to wipe like normal.

They didn't specify for me either, I just used it until I felt comfortable wiping which was around 5 weeks. I had two small tears. Loved that peri bottle!
