Is anyone else’s dad a controlling asshole???

My dad just sucks 
Don’t get me wrong he does nice things from tim to time. 
He hates the fact that I have a boyfriend and it’s so funny😂😂😂😂😂.....I’m a 25 year old woman. 
I can’t wait to see what he will be like when I move out and have my own life. He won’t know how to take it. 
He’s always been controlling. 
The day I moved into college freshmen year he was an asshole to me my mom and my new roommates 😅😂 I had no idea why but then I majored in psychology and realized how abusive he is. 
My dad said I can’t see my boyfriend due to the virus which I totally agree but he’s covering it up like the virus is his reason when really he just doesn’t like that I have a boyfriend (and my boyfriend is great)😂😂
I wasn’t going to see my boyfriend anyway so idk what his problem is. 
He makes my moms life a living hell. 
Calling her douchebag, asshole, and me a bitch all the time. 
It’s humorous. He has like one friend and now I know why😂😂 
I’m an artist part time and love painting and have an Instagram page but I don’t allow him to follow me or see it because I said he has to earn that. 
So everyone a family member says something to him about how good it is he just goes oh yeah. 😅😂😂😂 sorry but don’t call me a bitch/ douchebag/fat/ everything else you called me throughout my 25 years☺️☺️ 
Just need to get a good paying job so I can leave this house and never look back☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️

My dad hides how horrible he is too. He’s so helpful and nice at church with all the church people and nice to all his coworkers and comes home and is mean to everyone. But everyone else will be like oh your dad is so kind! Nope. There’s good days and bad but he’s never mean to anyone else except us. And he was the worst to my mom’s mom. He’s the type to insult you then claim he was just being honest and don’t you want the truth type of crap. Toxic is toxic even if it is family, so if you wanna leave and never look back then there’s nothing wrong with that. Good luck!

Honestly, my dad was the exact same way for a long time. I felt really unloved by him, and like he didn’t care and being around him always made me on edge. It wasn’t until last year, when he had a literal stroke, and almost died, and was in the hospital for months did he realize that he has to change and he has. Our relationship is so much better now and it breaks him into tears to think about he used to be towards us. Being sick really made him a better man. I’m not saying your dad needs to have a stroke to be better, but if some major change were to happen to make him reflect on his actions and behavior, I’m sure he’d come around

This was the same as my dad. I have nothing but horrible memories of him growing up. I haven’t seen him since I was 17 and I’m now 26! I haven’t missed him or even looked back. Weird cos I remember saying to my mum when I was about 7 years old that I don’t want my dad at my wedding... always go with your gut!

This sound just like my dad and 25 was our turning point when I started to not want him in my life. Im30 now and it’s been a few yrs since i have he anything to do with him and I couldn’t be happier. Hang in there I know it’s not easy you can message me anytime you need to vent I totally get it.❤️
