False positive Spook
My husband and I recently had a baby. Four months old today, actually. I currently work in Maryland, and my husband in Florida (both military). For work reasons he came up and stayed the weekend with me. Of course we banged it out, we missed each other! This was about five weeks ago. Last night, I found a stray unused pregnancy test and decided, well why the hell not, ya know?

Well, come to find out it’s positive. Now, it’s not one of those fancy digital ones, no, it’s just a simple clear blue great value brand test. The line was faint at first but after a few minutes it began to darken and settled in a half faded vertical dark blue line crossing the other to make a + sign. At that moment I was like

So I go downstairs and across the street to my convenient CVS, but because of the current COVID-19 problem they closed early. I couldn’t sleep until 2am, thinking that I perhaps could actually be pregnant. First thing the next morning I wake up like:

So I run to CVS and buy two boxes of pregnant tests, making sure to get a digital one as well. So I pee in the cup and stick the tests in there for 20 second and I stare at my watch just counting those two minutes down. I am ANXIOUS

My heart was literally racing, and I could hear it pounding. I was excited, but I was also scared to be pregnant again so soon. I always cover the results to do sort of like a mini reveal, so I remove the piece of toilet paper I had placed over them and low and behold “ - NO”.

Before this spook happened, I wasn’t sure if I wanted another baby, especially so soon. But my feeling of disappointment to find out it wasn’t positive has made me realize that I do want another baby, and I can’t wait to take that pregnancy test again and have a real positive result.
