Is he to old for me?

So I'm 20 years old and talking to a guy who is 18 years older than me, and some of my friends say he's to old and I should stop talking to him; but then I have other friends who say age is just a number and that it's fine. How do you guys feel about dating a guy that much older then you are? Is it to old or is it fine?
