Anyone else have a chatterbox?

Rachel

My 2 year old son is, what I would consider, so articulate! It’s funny because it’s like it happened overnight a couple months back. He says complete sentences all day long. He uses affliction when asking questions. He says things like “please, thank you, bless you (after I sneeze), beautiful, ginormous, etc.” and can repeat with clarity all 50 states. It’s crazy. It’s honestly a blessing and kind of a curse lol. Not sure how he picked up on everything because he was anti-books for the longest time and he has had minimal tv/tablet time. Plus, my husband sails, so he’s gone often. I’m grateful for the blessing, but genuinely curious, who else has a similar situation and were there influences for their advancement?

My son has been very very talkative since he was little. And it has continued. The stuff he says is hilarious. He repeats thinks from shows and movies he has watched. Lately he has been telling us to “Stop and think it through”. It’s a Cookie Monster quote! I’m very talkative myself, so I always thought it is because I talk to him a lot!

HE NEVER STOPS TALKING! Its literally incessant. And the worst is that he repeats everything and then thinks its funny to say it on videochat with his grandparents.

Both of my girls are the same! My oldest is now 5 and youngest is 2 and people are always shocked how old they are because of how well they talk.

Same. It’s like that meme going around: being quarantined with a toddler is like having an insane parrot taped to your shoulder. A while back I told her she was quite loquacious and now she occasionally uses that word too 🤦‍♀️ Her sentence structure has really developed the last few weeks.I can’t think of anything I’ve done differently from other moms but we like to read and went to the library every week before quarantine began. I have never really used baby talk with her and if she says something incorrectly I slowly repeat it but don’t tell her she’s wrong just say good job when she’s correct.
