Given birth during pandemic?

Question

Anyone given birth recently in hospital? What was it like? Are the midwives all covered up? Were you let home early? I'm 4 weeks away from birth and beginning to get anxious :(

I gave birth just over 2 weeks ago and the midwifes were in masks and every time they came into my room they had to put a new plastic apron on. 
My partner was with my throughout the whole labour and delivery, even when I got rushed to theatre. As I had a fever me and baby had to stay a few days but if you were fine they were trying to discharge people within 6 hours. 
In the ward I stayed in the rooms had 3 beds each, but they only had 1 woman in each room. My partner also had to keep a green wristband on throughout my time there so he could come and go, as no other visitors we’re allowed. 
The only time I was really affected by the changes was after giving birth my baby boy had to go and see the paediatrician, but they wouldn’t allow my partner to go with him due to going to a different department.

I have birth 3 weeks ago, nurses wasn’t covered up as they had been tested etc on shift and during, but was given masks incase and obviously washing of hands and gloves increased and they tried to keep a distance of mum and baby when they could. They stay isn’t being changed because of covid it all depends on mum and baby I was in for over a week before I self discharged due to sepsis. It can be stressful because all you worry about is being in there the only difference was I wasn’t allowed my birth partner with me once I had the baby

Your local hospital should be giving info about how they are running things at the mo. The local hospital websites and Facebook pages are pretty good. At my local hospital they are all in gowns and masks etc. Partner can only stay during active labour and a short time after and then have to go home. No other visitors. They are sending mums and babies home as soon as they can.
