Being induced....

Are there any negatives? I might be induced next week (39 weeks) because he is very big. He's 8.2 pounds as of today and in the 80th percentile. By 40 weeks, he should be 9.2 pounds and that could be off a pound. I'm also not progressing, I've been at 1 cm for 3 weeks. So what are the negatives of being induced?
