Disappointed w/ in-laws response...

So we decided to share baby news w/ my in laws before anyone else.  My son actually told them and it literally had to be the WORST reaction in history. No congrats, nothing whatsoever. A fake cracked half ass smile. MIL said isn't your sister having a girl? (She knows she's not... we just talked about it and what she was naming her kid). Besides, what does that have to do w/ anything anyway? Hello!! We just told you you're going to be a gma/gpa again.  Not when are you due? Do you know the sex? I'm so upset we wasted the surprise/ news on them and wish I could take it back. My husband said not everyone reacts the same way or how you want them to. I said even a sweaty handshake would have been more acceptable. This will be grandkid no 2 for them. Sorry if this isn't where I'm suppose to post - I didn't see a rant group.
Update - Wow, I can't believe how many similar stories there are out there. It doesn't make me feel better but at least I know my experience isn't so uncommon (sadly).  BIG CONGRATS to all of you mommies! May your babies enter this world happy and healthy!! 👶🏼
