Is a humidifier really necessary?

It’s better to have one just in case. We’ve only used ours twice but both times baby girl was congested and it helped her sleep.

It depends how humide the air is in your house. You can buy a device (dont know the name in english) for a couple bucks that will tell you the percent of humidity in the air. You might need to humidify or deshumidify.

Depends on where you live and what you want it for. I live in East Texas and it's super fucking humid here all the time. Definitely not necessary. 
But I do have one for when my kids are sick. I have a steam one and a cool mist one. I prefer the cool mist one. It's pretty invaluable when they have a cold.

Yup! We have 4 in our house. We also diffuse oils in them. We can definitely tell the difference when we don’t use them.
