35 weeks dilation and effacement

I know dilation and effacement don’t mean anything.. but I had my appt today and my doctor did my group b and strep swab today and she offered to check dilation. I was curious because I’ve been bouncing on a exercise ball trying to get this boy to drop.

Well, his head is engaged at a +3 station and I’m 50% effaced. I’m not dilated yet but I know that really doesn’t matter. I’m honestly surprised I was anything at all. He’s still in my rib cage, maybe I have a short torso or he’s really long!! It explains all the lightning crotch and pressure I’ve been feeling.

The kicker is she told me if I have more than 6 contractions in an hour, if my water breaks, or if I begin to bleed.. they will not stop labor at this point and to call them.

I always felt like this little guy was gonna come early but now it’s kinda surreal!
