Well my mom has brown hair and my absentee dad (or as I like to call him, my sperm donor) has black hair. I have dirty blonde hair that I got from my moms side of the family. Her dad had the same hair that I do. So it would depend on whether or not there are curly haired people on one side of the family and not the other I think.

If a person has no dominant alleles, so two recessive (aa) then they will have the recessive trait, like green eyes. So a mom and a dad can both have brown eyes and both be Aa and pass on their recessive allele for green eyes without expressing it.

A lot of times also small children have curly hair and it straightens as they age. My sister had total ringlets as a baby/toddler and the gradually fell. Her hair is completely straight now

I have brown/Auburn hair and green eyes as I take more after my maternal grandfather.
Your hair can change texture as you age as well. My mom had curly white blonde hair as a baby now it's more wavy/straight.
