Friends with benefits?

So I’ve been talking to this guy for about 5 months and we’re great friends... we hang out almost every other weekend and he’s pretty much my sex partner.. I also really like this guy a lot. Im anxious & want to know if this relationship (as friends) is going anywhere but I also don’t want to bring the topic up because I don’t want to scare him away lol should I just keep on hanging out with him until he mentions something or am I just wasting my time here?
