Should i go by dating scan or ovulation?

Hey all,
Im just curious, prior to falling pregnant i was using the natural cycles method to track my period and ovulation.
On my dating scan at the hospital they said i was due 17th October which is the date i predicted from the 1st day of my last period, however my confirmed ovulation was 2 weeks later.
So which would be more accurate? My dating scan or ovulation date?

Dating scan 100% especially if it lines up with first day of your last period. 
Your body starts preparing for pregnancy before ovulation. 
You get your period because pregnancy never happened and it strips all of that out. 
You got pregnant 2 weeks after your period, but your due date goes by lmp.

Gestational age is counted from LMP, not ovulation. Most women are already two weeks “pregnant” on their ovulation day. I found out when I was less than 4 weeks pregnant, but it has only been 10 days since I ovulated. Very normal. Expected date of birth and ultrasound can vary. My OB practice will go with the ultrasound date if it’s greater than a week off of predicted from LMP, otherwise they’ll stick with LMP. Hope that helps

Dating since that is based off your physical baby.

Due date does not go by lmp or I’d be 8 months pregnant right now 😂.  If you are using ovulation date you just add two weeks to account for your period. But the scan is most accurate so doctors will typically go by that unless you did fertility treatments. I’m measuring 6 days ahead but we know exact date of conception (fertility treatments) so my due date will never change even if my baby measures ahead or behind.
