We’re positive for the virus

Mikayla

Hello, I’m 22 years old and my baby girl is 2 weeks old. Today we both tested positive for the corona virus. Scariest moment in my entire life finding out that my premature baby (born at 37 weeks exactly) has a virus that has killed so many already. Anyways I wanted to make a post to tell other moms and future moms to trust your instincts and to tell you our symptoms.

So two days ago my daughter was extra fussy that night and wanted to eat and eat and eat. She ended up projectile vomiting twice. Which we thought was from over feeding. That night she was very fussy and didn’t sleep much. The next morning she woke at about 4:30am and didn’t go back to sleep all morning (which is odd because she usually sleeps until the evening then wakes up for a few hours) around 9am she felt very warm to me so I checked her temperature. Her temp under her arm was 99.6 (which if it’s under arm you add 1 degree) (doctor told me that) anyways so that means her temp was 100.6. Not good. So I immediately called the on call nurse at her pediatrician office to ask what to do next. She referred me to go to the pediatric urgent care. So I go there and they wouldn’t even let us through the doors. We had to go to a different location to be seen in an outside tent with people in full protection gear. The doctor evaluated my daughter and decided to get her tested just in case because she is so small. So we go get tested and it came back positive today.

So some of our symptoms are

Hers :

-Vomiting (only 2 times back to back)

-extra fussy

-not eating as much

-diapers extra full almost overflowing

-fever 100.6 but went down to 99.1

-lots of drooling

-barley sleeping

My symptoms:

-bad headaches

-diarrhea

-nausea

-swollen lymph nodes

-sore throat

-super tired

Neither of us are having respiratory issues thank god. Mommas trust your instincts. If you think something is wrong go to the doctor.
