Cancelled surprise baby shower

Just found out from my amazing sister that this Saturday just gone would have been our surprise baby shower, including a weekend visit from my wife’s family from Plymouth, and a lovely meal in a fancy restaurant in town. My sister had paid for hotel rooms too, which were non refundable, so she’s lost however much they cost, and obviously everything she and my mum had organised has had to be cancelled.

I feel really sad that all the plans have had to be cancelled, but so grateful to everyone who thought of us and would have been there for us on such a special day. We’ve decided that, once all this lockdown business is over (UK), we’re going to have like a post-baby shower or a naming day kind of party, to welcome our daughter into the lives of her beautiful family and our friends.

For now, I’m just a bit sad that I’m losing another little thing from my first pregnancy due to this horrible virus.
