At what lengths would you go to have a child naturally before you would adopt? How long would you try?

I have a friend who has struggled with infertility for 9 years and it breaks my heart. She’s done everything under the sun to try and conceive naturally, gone through a round of IVF, eats clean, literally uses no toxic products or drinks alcohol... I can’t help but wonder if I could have one what she’s done. Would I have tried as long as she has?

Adoption is rigorous. It also can be a very heart breaking process. 
I think when you have an idea of how you want your life to be it’s very hard to let it go. If i was in that position I’d constantly ask myself “did i do enough?” 
Then there’s so much you have to prepare for mentally and ask yourself when looking into adoption. Can you love a child you didn’t birth? Will the love you share with the child compare to one you have grown and given birth to? Will you found yourself feeling let down? They’re hard questions to face and only can be answered when you’re ready.

We said if it didn’t happen naturally then it wasn’t meant to be and we wouldn’t have kids. But I did ended up getting pregnant the first month trying with both my kids. I have said I’d be a surrogate for someone who was unable to have kids

I’d love to adopt just because I feel like I couldn’t physically handle going through another pregnancy and labor process. And there’s so many kids that need a loving home and family.

We tried for over a year after a MC and we said if it didn’t happen or if we had another miscarriage we would stop trying and travel. We never wanted to go through IVF or adoption. “If it’s meant to be” was our thought process.
