20 and telling my dad I’m pregnant

Okay let me start off by saying when I was younger me and my dad had the BEST relationship. I was literally daddy’s little girl but over time my mom and dad weren’t seeing eye to eye and they’d argue a lot . Especially because my dad was battling a drug addiction.

My dad and I lost our close bond during my teenage years but we’ve just started working on building our bond again (even though it hasn’t really left) I love my daddy so much and I know he loves me but he always telling me about chilling out on boys and focusing on myself and school (you know the usual dad talk) however I found out I was pregnant about 3 months ago (I’m 3 months pregnant) and I haven’t told him yet.

However , majority of my family members on my mother side knows.

I decided to tell my dad that I’m pregnant but on his birthday (today) in the cutest way ... it’s a box and when he opens it , it says “pop me !” And I tapped a tack under the words so he could use the tack to pop the balloon . The balloon has confetti in it and a note that says “I’m pregnant”

I called him and told him happy birthday . I asked him what he had planned for the day , he said his girlfriend planned a small party with cake and ice cream . Her sister and daughter will be attending ....

I told him I had a gift for him (he got emotional , my dad is a pretty emotional person & this is my first gift to him on his birthday btw)

He said I could come over if I’d like and I said “it’s your birthday daddy , whatever you want” which made him more emotional . He also kept repeating “thank you” which kinda made me emotional too because 1 . He doesn’t know what’s about to hit him and I’m emotional too so all that really got to me .

All in all , I’m just extremely nervous that he’d be disappointed in me and that I’m going to ruin his birthday . Not to mention he hasn’t met my boyfriend yet or anything !

Which kinda isn’t knew because like I said before we kinda lost our closeness so he hasn’t met any of my boyfriends except 2 and one was at 15 and the other I was 17 .

I just want to know you guys opinions or get a little advice ... maybe hear some stories about how your dads took the news . Anything would help , thanks❤️
