Feedings?

My eight week old baby is formula feeding and only drinks 2 ounces every 2 to 3 hours how many of y’all are having your babies only drink this much because I thought babies are supposed to be drinking at least 4 ounces every 3 to 4 hours . Her last doctors appointment the doctor was concerned about her weight just because she didn’t gain as much as she would like her to￼.

Wouldn’t 2 ounces every 2 hours be the same as 4 ounces every 4 hours? 🤨 My 7 week old eats 4 oz every 3.5-4 hours.

My son will be 8 weeks tomorrow. He eats 4 ounces every 3 hours on the dot (sometimes 2.5 hours). He’s been doing this since about 3 weeks which I felt was early but he definitely likes to eat and it shows in his weight. My first son though who’s 22 months now stayed having 2 ounces for a while. If I feed him anymore at one time he’d spit up so he ate less but more often as your describing. It wasn’t until I switched formula for him that he began drinking more at a time which was at about 2.5 months. Not sure if it was the formula switch or just because he needed more time. My doctor was never concerned as long as he gained weight at each wellness check. There were times he only gained a couple ounces between visits but they always told me as long as it was a gain they aren’t concerned. ￼He’s still tiny for his age in about the 5th percentile for weight and height but hitting all milestones and a happy little boy. ￼
