Weight lifting questions??

Hey! I have a couple questions for experienced weightlifters! I want to Starr weight lifting! I have lost 30 pounds, I have another 20ishnpounds of fat, I would like to lose. I’d like to start get some weights going. If I start incorporating weight lifting into my exercises.. will I still lose the fat I need to lose? And gain muscle? I know I can’t focus to much on the number on the scale because I do know gaining muscle will make me gain weight(but good weight) I need to lose another 20 pounds, but I really want to start some heavy lifting. Is doing both, possible?
