Best way to discipline?

My little girl scoots everywhere! Lol I keep a bunch of toys for her on the floor and let her play and crawl around, but she ALWAYS goes for what she can’t have. Right now I firmly tell her “no ma’am” and redirect her attention back to her toys. But it’s like her toys don’t keep her interest anymore and she remembers what she wants and in 5 seconds she’s back to the same thing again.
Not sure If she’s bored with all her toys. Maybe I need to interact with her more with some activities?  
Obviously, I know this is normal behavior, I just don’t want to discourage her by always telling her no but I don’t just want to put her in a playpen because i want her to learn. I guess basically what I’m asking is...am I doing this right? What do you guys do? FTM here

And really ask yourself why your child can’t play with something. If it’s a hazard, it should be within her reach. If it’s just a basket or a water bottle, then let her explore it instead of constantly saying no.

Either put baby in a baby safe space, or constantly supervise like you have been. I have to ask myself "is this really dangerous if baby plays with it?" And I have a large play pen the size of our living room so it's plenty of room but I don't have to helicopter. Baby will have plenty of time to learn, and lose interest in bad stuff the older they get.

I’m going through the same thing! I do the same thing! I honestly don’t really know, but it sounds like you’re doing the right thing! They don’t really know what’s right or wrong yet but I think your facial expression really makes a difference too. I think if they see you’re not happy or smiling then it is probably not right. I think it’s just more of redirecting them whenever they start getting into things. I notice my baby will play with her toys more if I’m playing with them and then she gets curious. She gets pretty bored of them easily though and then wants cords, the remote, the dog toys, etc. I have been grabbing safe items like a bag of ice, a mug, stuff like that and she likes that. You’re not alone!! It’s a hard time right now 😅
