My poor daughter

Yesterday around 1ish my mother-in-law asked to come over and see our daughter. I said yes. She said it would be a little bit late because she had some errands to run first. I told my daughter and she got excited. About an hour or 2 after I talked to my mother-in-law I asked when to expect her. She said she still had a few things to do. About 7:15 at night she messaged me and says she's going go to the grocery store then stop by. However I didn't see it till around 7:40 because I was putting my daughter to bed. She's 2 blocks away and the grocery store is 5 blocks mind you. She wasn't there. I explained to her that her granddaughter was in bed. She said if it wasn't raining she would be over at 9 am because she had to work at 11 am. I didn't tell my daughter this time and I'm glad I didn't. It's 10:30 and Nana never came.

My man thinks this is normal. He's used to them not showing up. I find this unexceptional.

Update:so about 5 till 11 she messaged me saying she was sorry. She talked to her mom (who she works with) to see of it was ok if she would be a little late to work. She asked if she could still come over. We will see what happens.

Last update: she showed up and stayed for about 30 mins and went to work. My daughter was happy to see her. She actually brought her a toy as well.
