Pumping to induce labour...?

Hallie

So I’m 38 weeks and have to have an induction at 40 weeks if I’m not in labour by then... and because of covid 19 hubby can’t be there until I’m in established labour so I wanted to try some natural methods of inducing labour at home.

Tonight I decided to get out my manual breast pump and pump for about half an hour ish. I alternated each breast every 5 minutes or so.... I started having contractions after about 10 minutes of doing this every 5 minutes or so, and have had about 5 more in the half hour since stopping... baby is still moving fine in between.

Do you think this is ok? Could it be the start of anything? Or just some more regular Braxton-Hicks? Has anyone heard of using a manual breast pump to get things started? Xx
