No early ultrasound?

The clinic I am going to for my prenatal care won't do ultrasounds until 5 months, they claim it might hurt the baby. So they won't let me. All of the women in my family says it sounds strange and they've never been told that before. The clinic also told me that obgyns in my area will give you how ever many ultrasounds you want because they want money, but that they won't take you until you are second trimester because of high abortion turnouts here. That sounds insane and completely conflicts with the "they just want money" assumption. I'm 8 weeks and 5 days today, and I want so badly to see my baby. :( Any recommendations for good obgyns in the Yuba/Marysville area? (I have anthem blue cross/medical insurance) I know I can Google this but Google doesn't give too much info or personal experience about them that I know I can get here. I appreciate it.
