TW Animal abuse?

So I have this 10 month husky dog. He's an amazing dog, I love him to death ❤️

But the last 2 months he managed to shake 3 baby possums to death, and yesterday he killed a crow. My mom is TERRIFIED that he's going to pick up a disease. My dog is vaccinated on everything he needs. I'm just so confused why he does this? We got him at 8 weeks but only lately he's been doing this.

We have a 8 year old dog and she's so polite, she has never done something like this before so we know he didn't learn it from her.

I'm curious was it something that he saw when he was a little pup (before 8 weeks when we didn't have him). Or is he part wolf?

Why has he been doing this? And how can I prevent him from doing this again. My mom is scared he's going to attack my older dog. I'm reassuring her I think the husky thinks these small creatures are toys since he has a bunch of the squeeky ones.

My 8 year old is a St Bernard/border collie mix and she's 73lbs while the husky/malamute mix is 63lbs.
