37 +3 cramping, back aches and contractions

This is my first. I'm 37 weeks and 3 days. Dr. Said last week that she is low and my cervix was soft but not dilated. Last night I had extreme back pain, contractions 10 min apart and heartburn for 3 hours and then it subsided. All day today I've been tired, back has been aching and BH have continued throughout the day. I get period type cramps and the extreme urge to pee. I have not seen any mucus plug or blood though. Is this prodromal labor? Anyone experience this.
