Is it not smart to try to conceive during the COVID-19 pandemic?

HELP! My fiancé and I want to start trying for a baby. I ovulate in a few days but I’m getting mixed reactions from friends and family bc of the corona virus and them not thinking it’s safe for the baby....

It’s a personal decision. Nobody else has to make it but you and your partner. 
This question is asked on a daily basis. I’m not putting it off and neither are most women that I’ve spoken with. There’s never a “good time” to get pregnant, case in point the women who have given birth during this outbreak I’m sure didn’t expect for things to change so suddenly when they got pregnant.

It's a very personal decision. Same as always. Plenty of women are going through pregnancy and birth during this without it being planned. No different if you actually plan it. I had a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks like 2 weeks before the lockdown started. Had I not lost the pregnancy I'd have been pregnant through this whole thing and giving birth in Sept. 
The biggest thing to think about is if this is your first, will he be okay missing out on everything. I know here they aren't allowing partners in for any of the appointments. Not for dating scans, not for heartbeats, not for anatomy scans. Nothing. Those are a lot of really big firsts that he wouldn't get to experience with you.

We started trying this month. We had decided on this time over a year ago. No one knows when the Pandemic will end so why put it on hold for an indefinite amount of time? Besides, there will always be SOMETHING going on in the world that is not ideal.

It’s a very personal decision, and you will need to make the choice that’s right for you. However, I have seen some recent news that says that getting COVID while pregnant can cause damage to the placenta, and the medical community is worried about potential effects on the baby, due to decreased oxygen. So you will want to look into that. Personally, I would wait on TTC.

I think it’s smart to be cautious. Pregnancy will compromise your body’s immune system. Your new baby will be vulnerable for the first few months of their life as their own immune system develops. You may not see your doctor as often as you’d like, or in circumstances that are comfortable for you.
But getting pregnant isn’t always easy. It can take months—with my first it took about a year. And it could be a long time before there’s any sort of effective treatment or vaccine to treat Corona. So ultimately you’ll have to weigh the risks and decide. It’s possible to safeguard your health and pregnancy, but it’s more challenging at the moment for sure.
I don’t think you need to be scared or put your life plans on hold, but I also don’t think it’s a bad idea to consider waiting until the worst of the pandemic is over.

If it’s meant for you to conceive during this time it’ll happen. Don’t let this virus scare you from bringing a child in this world. There are worse viruses than Corona and people have been making babies anyway. If God is going to bless you to get pregnant during this time, you will definitely be a true WARRIOR!!!
