Does your little one sleep with blankets in their cot?

Question

Now that it’s getting towards winter and we live in an old house I’m wondering if my 6 month old should be okay with blankets now?  My sister is still co sleeping and her little man is 2 years old so I have no one else to ask about it. 
At the moment she sleeps on a singlet, Pjs and a ergo 3.5 pouch. My partner and I sleep in pjs, sheet, Donna and a blanket over the top. (Which usually gets kicked off) 
Is there still a massive risk at 6 months for sleeping with blankets? 😬

Add extra layers of clothing. The risk of suffocation or strangulation from a blanket is minimal but you can easily make the risk 0 so why wouldn't you?

My little girl sleeps in her armless sleeping bag. So much safer than loose blankets and keeps her warm enough...

My daughter wears a sleep sack and has a lovey in her crib with her, she’s one though. We might give her a blanket in a few months but at the moment I feel like it’s pointless because she moves so much it wouldn’t be on her anyway.

We kept my daughter in a wearable blanket (sleep sack) until she was at least 18 months. She is 20 months now and I feel safe having her using a blanket but she doesn’t alway kept in on. I suggest looking into a wearable blanket for her for safety as well as keeping her warm.

We have our son a blanket a few weeks before he turned 2. Even then I took it away the first few nights after he fell asleep because I was so nervous. We kept a space heater in his room, but now that he’s in a bed and not a crib, that had to leave so he has a blanket now. At 6 months, our son wore fleece footie pajamas, we plastic wrapped his windows to help keep the cold air out, and we had the space heater set at 68.

My son slept in fleece footed pajamas when it was cold. If he wore something thinner I put him in a sleep sack. I gave him a blanket and pillow around 15 months because it’s the only way I could get him to sleep by himself. He never uses the blanket but he likes it to be there.

My son has a sleep sack and a light blanket he’s 13 months now but has always had this from around 5 months. I’ve never used a thick blanket on him though

My daughter slept wearing fleece footed pajamas during the winter months. They recommend waiting until at least a year for blankets.
