Do guys like to make us jealous?

So I’m talking with this guy for months now. Lately he brings up his exes, or other women in a way that seems like he wants to see how I react. For example, he does physiotherapy now because he broke his leg, and I asked him what treatments does the physiotherapist does to him and he was like “She massages me, I’m thinking of arranging her to come at home to massage me privately”. Of course he wanted attention for that. Like why privately? Hahahaha
I’m wondering, is he testing me for something? Or does he like teasing me like that and making me jealous?

I wouldn’t have taken that as something he said to make you jealous. 
Maybe he just really wants more massages. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 
But I think people enjoy be wanted & sometimes wrongly attempt to say things to spark jealously in their partners.

It may be his way of getting reassurance from you that you love him. You never know what people have been through or how they were raised. As a child he may not have gotten a lot of love and affection and had to come up with ways to get that from his parents. So now with you it’s like he’s saying ‘see these other women think I’m worth talking so you should think I’m worthy too’.  In a way it’s kinda sad that he feels like he has to go to these lengths to get love or compliments. I’m just speculating.

See I’m the opposite with you, I get hit on all the time, my guy knows this, but it’s not that I’m making him jealous, it’s that I’m being honest with him, I am completely 100% honest with him I tell him everything. I’m not trying to make him jealous, but I’m just telling him about my day. I know that he told me in the beginning when we started dating that he can be jealous, but my question was is this going to be a problem. Because I get hit on a lot and he knows this. I told him that the same day that we started dating, I said watch, I said I bet you at least 20 guys hit on me today and it was more. They sense it the minute you say yes to someone.  But I love how open and honest we are with each other, he tells me even things that are embarrassing which I love that he’s not afraid to tell me things. We tell each other when we masturbate, we tell each other what we’re watching when we watch porn, I’m glad he tells me everything. He did tell me about when this one woman was hitting on him and calling him Papi, which is my name for him, being Latina we tend to do that. My first thought was do i gotta cut someone, but I didn’t say it out loud lol I told him day one, don’t cheat, just leave, and if I find out that you cheated, I will castrate you and I’m not playing, so he knows better.
