Pros & Cons of having a Doula?

First baby & don’t know too much about a doula.. part of me feels like I’d honestly prefer it just be my husband and I especially since we’re already taking parenting classes but thought I’d hear experiences from others before deciding!

I feel like with covid, it’s changed so much.
I booked a doula in January Bc my ob was very up front that her sisters 50th birthday was going to be in London the week before my due date. I didn’t want to be with potentially unknown doctor. So I looked into and hired a doula. Also I went to a few group workshops for maternity things and knew I would much prefer a private class.
Then covid, now no in person prenatal classes. No in person labor support, no hospital support, post natal virtual visits. 
My doula came to my house today for one (of the two prenatal classes, which is now one) in person class. It was helpful for sure, but I really wanted all the in person labor/hospital support and that’s unlikely to happen at this point. 
I overall feel like I paid A LOT of money and if it was going to be 90% virtual, I would have just watched my online videos.
