Finances

😡😡😡😡😡

I can't believe this.

I've just calculated what we received as income this month.

We usually have about 4,5k a month which isn't too bad in general.. But we have some loans to pay off.. And rent and facilities costs, so we don't usually have a lot left at the end of the month.

However.. This month we had some extra (tax returns and whatever)

And I just counted out.. We had 7,5k! This month..

That's almost double..

Sad thing is.. That it's almost gone already..

We've gone crazy.. I can't even believe this 😭

And then I checked the accounts.. And yes.. I made some purchases for baby on the way..

But then I also see my husband splurging on food and drinks.. It was also my birthday, but somehow he had a new phone for 550$..

I'm glad I had put about half of my tax returns in our savings account but I can't believe we went trough all that money so quickly!

I used to live off 700$/month..

We should do better but my husband doesn't want to "justify" his spending.. But he does want our accounts to be joined...

I don't know.. I guess I'll have to tell him it's either one or the other..

@Alahna

Yh I get it.. I used to do this weekly but it now had been a while.. Like.. A year maybe.

Will step up and trying to do this daily or just whenever we've spent some.

@R

It wasn' t undiscussed.. But it is ridiculous that we just spent it and that was that. We had the money that wasn't the problem and to be fair I did put thesame amount straight into the savings account.. But still it was an eye opener.

We are changing our finances, I've seperated our bills and accounts and we've discussed all our money will go to the joint account, the joint account will pay for all necessities (loans, rent, utilities, food, gas)

And we'll both be having 200$ pocketmoney per month. Which is still sufficient.. But keeping to this we should save about 1000$/month where we now saved nothing.

Whatever is left at the end of this month (and every next month) will go directly into our savings account, where we now "stored" it into our joint account and just ended up spending it slowly but surely.
