first time being pregnant advice??

just a question... why do some ladies go in for an appointment/ultrasound around 6-7 weeks and when i just called my doctor they don’t need to see me until 11-12 weeks? i feel like i’m going to make myself crazy before then lol. i just wanna know that everything is okay! i have been taking prenatals for 1 month as i started them last month while trying to conceive and ended up pregnant so i will continue taking them. is there anything else i should be doing to make sure everything goes okay before my appointment in a little over a month? any advice would be appreciated!!

Depends on a lot of things. Where you’re from, your age, if you’ve had children before, if you’re high risk, if you’ve experienced a loss.
If you’re young, this is your first pregnancy, and you’ve never had a loss before, there’s no need to see you before 10 weeks.
If you’re over 30, have had a miscarriage or loss before, if you’re overweight or underweight, or are high risk, they may do an ultrasound much earlier.
It also depends on your doctor. 
I didn’t have one until I was 8 and a half weeks.

Drink plenty, always!
Eat as healthy as possible YOU DEFINITELY ARE NOT eating for two. That's a myth :) I wish somebody set me straight on that one before I was 7 months gone eating my way through a buffet style breakfast lunch and dinner. I went from a size UK 6/8 to a size 24/26 .
Also start using some body butter, coco butter is really good for keeping stretch marks from ever starting...

Waiting for that first appointment was absolute torture!!!! I hope that the time flies by for you! Just try to keep your mind busy. Find a little project to start. Anything to keep your from overthinking because that will only make it worse!

Limit caffeine intake, especially if you are an avid coffee or soda drinker. You can have some, but it’s best not to have a ton. Avoid raw meats, obviously. Make sure your fruits and vegetables are washed really well before eating them. My midwife also suggested avoiding cinnamon during my pregnancy because the import of it is unregulated, so it could come from somewhere with a high disease rate. It can also cause uterine contractions. There have been studies on it, but they weren’t conclusive as to how much was “safe”, so she suggested none at all. 
If you have done any of these things, don’t stress over it, just change now. I ate cinnamon in early pregnancy and was totally fine, but I think it’s wise to follow advice once you know it could affect you or your pregnancy.
