Sandwiches while pregnant?

I have been craving a turkey sandwich so badly and I don’t wanna call up my OBGYN just to ask that because i don’t wanna be annoying. So what do you ladies think? I’m 8+3 and I’ve made a plan to go to subway tomorrow with my boyfriend because I want one. 😭

Eat the sandwich. In first world countries, you’re more likely to get listeria from precut fruits and veggies and premade salads than you are from deli meat.

I ate subway and Jimmy John’s almost every other day of my pregnancy. I did not hear it up either.

It’s totally fine, just remember that it’s not nitrate free at subway. They also have really good regulations for keeping their meat and veggies cool and have dates if not consumed it is tossed. Turkey goes quick at subway as well. It’s one of their most sought after Sammy. I used to work there. The issue is listeria and is usually from mishandling by people. Pre packaged is always good if you wanna make your own. Subway’s is prepackaged and has about 60 slices per package and gloves are worn when they put it out and make sandwiches 🥪. :) enjoy

It’s the one thing my dr said no to, unless the meat gets heated up to steaming. I’ve been craving it too, but I just go without. Pregnant women are more susceptible to listeria. It’s all about knowing how it was prepared, cut, how long it was out before being refrigerated for storage. I had my husband cook a whole turkey just so I could get turkey sandwiches. At least we can control how the food is handled and stored.
